Berlin Tegel

A bit late reporting this as I was over there at the end of April. I was in Berlin for four days and was lucky to be able to fit a few hours at Tegel into the agenda. A beautiful warm day 29 degrees, honestly, wall to wall sunshine. A great viewing area open air, 2 euros in and unrestricted views of apron and both runways. Limited facilities when up on the roof no toilets, shops or refreshments but still very well worth the visit. We decided a visit was wortwhile as the capital's long-awaited new airport will replace Tegel and Schoenefeld airports, both dating from the Cold War era. Just weeks before its opening date the operators said the Berlin-Brandenburg airport would not be ready in time. So perhaps a chance to go back before 2013 is possible.
