Just a heads up, there's a Saudi Airbus A340-200 about to fly over Northern Ireland in 10 minutes time, callsign HZ124. It's currently approaching the Isle of Mann.

Unfortunately the Saudi Goverment A340-200 flew over Banger rather than Belfast so I only managed a pic of it 15 or so miles away :/

Here is a picture of it in Geneva from JP.net.

This was the first A340-200 ever to be built, and the 4th A340 built, first flying in 1992. Currently it's still listed as being stored.

According to Freebird, it was destined for the Senegal government in 2009. Has it since been returned to the Saudi government.

Nice Shot Dave-sad to see the contrail thread so light on pics at the moment,but the weather has largely been poo,and sunshine and clear skies have been rather rare so far this year.

Thanks for the info guys, it seems many of the VIP A340's delivered don't really do much flying in their lifetimes, the soaring cost of fuel hit the 4 engined A340's badly

Oddly enough, HZ-124 was damaged in Geneva late 2012 by a ramp veichle, seems they've repaired it back to flying state again.

And yes, where is all the sunshine gone! :/

First day in ages that I could have taken some decent contrail shots and the tracks are taking everything well south of the City.

Yep, including an A380 at one point, or at least that's what FR24 showed.

Mind you, took a few non aviation related shots this afternoon and it was actually quite hazy.

Very nice Steve and Joey,was plenty of contrails about today,and that sky was very clear-saw a few nice ones as the sun was going down,but all were too far off for a decent shot.
