Pics: Some residents and visitor at Ards, 1991
« on: June 09, 2013, 09:47:27 PM »
Rummaging through photos today I found and scanned these.

Some after-the-show pictures of the Ards field, 1991 I think given the presence of Team Ecco.

Lots of old regs I remember from being a wee nipper.

First pic:
G-FRST
G-BEDG ( from memory, Commander 114 in background )
G-BAKH ( which I always pronounced back-ache )
G-AVYP
G-BBTZ
G-OMAC
G-AZVG

Second:
With the addition of
G-AROO ( which as far as I can tell has been at Ards for > 50 years now )

Third:
With the addition of N13253
G-[UV]??? Cherokee in foreground

Still a few UNIDs in background.

Casper do scold me if these are too big, they're half-size scales of the originals but I can rescale again if necessary.

Original sizes also here at about 1.7 MB each, 600 dpi scan.

G-AROO was one of the aircraft used by the UFC when it opened in 1961,and is still current at the airfield flown by ex-milkman Jim Mc Meekan,a very nice bloke he is to. :)

Very sad news indeed,Jim McMeekan was a real gent, always had time for anyone who asked about the Forney Aircoupe G-AROO.

Nice to hear the family have inherited his love of flying and are still operating Roo.
