Title: Coast guard responding Co Down coast
Post by: rookie on Jul 16, 2026, 22:07
Just noticed HMCG Beechcraft Super King Air A350 G- HMGF as SSG226A and HMCG Leonardo Agusta AW139 G-MCGP as SRG199 responding to something off the Co Down coast, there's also 2 RNLI lifeboats in the vicinity.

Irish coast guard Leonardo  Agusta  AW139 EI-IRG as CGI116 is further south not sure if its responding to a different call?

I wonder if it`s an exercise,or a real emergency? I had a look on Marine Traffic, that`s a load of assets involved, but I didn`t see any ship in distress.
Doubtless more info will come out later, nothing on BBC NI news yet.
