Title: RAF Lossiemouth 17th July short visit
Post by: angry turnip on Jul 17, 2024, 20:48
I was up near RAF Lossiemouth today and popped round for a look, I`ve not been there for many years, and it was very quiet apart from a flight of 4 x Typhoon`s that departed 1115 and back around an hour later.

Seems this aircraft is part of 12 Sqn a Joint RAF-QEAF Typhoon Squadron, when I checked the markings.

Just one pic for now, maybe more later.

Are there fences around perimeter these days? Heard it had got a lot worse in the last 5 years or so since I was there last.

Most seemed to have a fence, but I checked a few visiting guides and most suggested near the golf course end which is where I went today. There is a raised bank that gives a good view and not many obstructions thankfully.
Some of the few locals that were there told me the bank had been accessable by car but not anymore, however there is a small carpark as part of the golf course which can be used if not busy, but some golfers have complained about non golfers using it.
Old misery guts lol.
