Callsign 'Vortex'
« on: October 04, 2008, 06:55:39 PM »
Do any of you guys monitor the airwaves?
There was a Mil aircraft (helo?) using this callsign up that way today - any idea what it was?

Puma / Chinook?

(I've only heard single Pumas using 'Tiger' myself)

"Vortex" is almost certainly a Chinook callsign-there has been some Chinook activity around Aldergrove this past two weeks but haven`t mananged to photograp it but have seen one 4 times recently.

As you rightly say "Tiger" is normally used by the Puma`s if operating solo.
