Aldergrove timetables 1980 scans

Apparently provided by Northern Ireland Airports Ltd, encountered in a 1981 QUB student's dissertation.

Movements for Summer 1980 and Winter 1980 / 1981

Vernair had an 06:30 Queen Air arrival on Saturdays conveying pools coupons!  Also interesting how many freighter flights were for papers, with fewer flights on smaller aircraft for mail.

Zoom in and pan around to read.

Some notes from the National Archives about Royal Mail's forays into computer data transportation ( ref. the 'data' flights in the timetables ):

Quote
The change from government department to that of public corporation
in 1969 marked the beginning of the launch of a range of services
aimed primarily at business users, who posted the majority of mail.

Examples include Datapost, launched in 1970 as an overnight, door to
door service aimed initially at moving computer data and other urgent
packages, ... and Edipost in the early 1990s, the world’s first
national commercial service for converting electronic messages to
paper for delivery by first class post.
