Ok then, I've been chasing this 'supermoon' all week, and had the benefit of a borrowed 400mm Sigma lens...

Rats, missed again!  ICE1508, southbound to Dublin in the haze, just avoiding a bullseye.

I waited this morning for an attempt at OTT and inbound harbour aircraft. Not one even ventured into the aera. However I ended up with this one sadly minus the aircraft.

Jet Airways A333 at 10:15 today.  So close.

Gently backlit from the morning Sun, not too strong.

Strong oblique lighting on the Moon last night, set-off the craters with shadows.

Slight hazy but decent seeing.  I stood out in the cold waiting for a pair of FedExes to pass, but the both skirted below the Moon out of frame.

Smudge I was out last night also about 11.00pm. I tried and failed at star trails. However I noticed the Moon clear in the cold air and had a go. I saw two aircraft passing but likewise neither entered the frame.

I took a few moon pics last night,as the moon appears to be full;still some haze about, but the moon was very bright.

1st shot is hand held at ISO200 1/40sec F8 with no exposure compensation, and the moon appears very bright with little detail visable. This is pretty much as the naked eye would see it.
The other shots I used various exposure compensation to bring the detail out.

I was back out tonight photographing the Moon and hoping a stray aircraft would oblige, none did. It's cold but the sky is really clear.

Cool Steve love it with the framing etc. I just realised I said last night that I was out and photographed the Moon; then didn't upload the shot!!
