BFS you might just get lucky
« on: January 18, 2009, 06:00:08 PM »
Managed to get a quick shot of N8000E a Dassault Falcon 7X registered as new 5/1/2009 landing on runway 17 at BFS last Saturday 9/1/2009.

Was a very windy and dull morning so not best quality, but probably the first pic of this aircraft in the UK.

Looks like it was a transatlantic flight from Spirit Of St Louis Airport (St Louis, MO) [KSUS/SUS].

Nice capture

Had him on the radar inbound and outbound - too high for a pic though @ 41000ft  ;) ;)

These Falcons seem to be making a good few appearances at BFS. They have a certain charm to them.

Just to add to the 'you could get lucky' at BFS theme;

Some guys just have all the luck :( If only I didn't have exams for the entire of January!  I'd do anything to get an AWACS at BFS.

Heard one of the FRA Falcons on 128.5 last night doing ILS approaches.Using the callsign 'Rushton69'.

That guy must know a good spot at BFS - those Puma shots are excellent.

Those are by Paul Harvey-he works at RAF Aldergrove side-used to be a member of the UAS.

I remember he mentioned he works near the airport, does he actually work within the RAF side? The pictures (especially the AWACS) seem to taken at the piana keys of runway 25 which would position him just right of the RAF area.

All I know he works within the base in some capacity-I would have thought it highly dodgey to take photos on base even if you work there.
Fair enough if it`s an open day,but day to day stuff could be a bit naughty-so I assume he has some sort of special permission.

I imagine it's a bit more relaxed these days - there are quite a few guys posting pics on various sites that are taken within the perimeter of airbases in the UK.As long as they exercise a little discretion and don't photograph stuff that we shouldn't be seeing :o :-X
