EGAA - 25/2/09
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:46:41 PM »
Hey guys, I flew to Manchester for a day trip of spotting on the Wednesday there and had a great day all around. I was blessed with some sunshine at BFS when boarding the aircraft so I managed to snap some photos at Belfast International. Enjoy! (I just noticed the possibility to add the [ img ] by pressing the button with the image symbol... nice!)

I was happy to discover this Jet 2 aircraft used to belong to Ansett Australia!

Caught after a sharp turn after departure, showing the cross runway and parts of RAF Aldergrove.

I was happy to finally get a picture of the cargo ramp at BFS!

The weather wasn't as great at Manchester but it was light enough to get some good shots in. Was even blessed with a Eurofighter flyby - something in relation to the new Concorde hanger I believe. Unfortunately it was dark at the time and the resulting photo isn't really good enough for any aviation website :(

Looks like you went from Stand 27 with BMI Baby-surprised you didn`t get bollocked for taking pictures on the ramp-I tried taking pics once when I worked at BFS with my mobile of the AN-22 but the OPS guys ate me! :o

We were told you would be sacked for even trying to take photos-BFS are VERY strict about it.

Very nice indeed, and I can see absolutely nothing wrong with the Eurofighter shot. Nice ones :)

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I'm pushing my luck to get the Typhoon photo on to jetphotos as I don't think anybody else caught it that day.

Looks like you went from Stand 27 with BMI Baby-surprised you didn`t get bollocked for taking pictures on the ramp-I tried taking pics once when I worked at BFS with my mobile of the AN-22 but the OPS guys ate me! :o

Yikes, doesn't sound pleasent. I snapped these photos climbing the steps of the aircraft so I guess there was little anybody could do. I did take one or two shots hen approaching the aircraft and the employees standing by just smiled thankfully.

Don`t want to sound like a misery guts, just very surprised nobody challenged you.

Typhoon pic is very good indeed-maybe slightly back lit but not much you can do about that.
Grey aircraft and grey sky is always going to be a challenge to any photographer, and I think it`s a damn good shot.
