A few AirshowStuff.com Updates
« on: August 22, 2006, 09:30:06 PM »
I've got new videos, photos, and a brand new reviews section that allows people to write their own airshow reviews and see them posted.  People can also attach photos and videos that they took at the show.

May they rest in peace, those graceful masters of the sky...

Happiness is Tomcat-Shaped.

I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning.

Do the airshow reviews have to be US based or can they be from anywhere?

I hadn't thought about it but I suppose they could come from anywhere, assuming it's written in english.  I don't have a problem with it.

Some fantastic videos there. I just love the A-10. Some people say it is an ugly plane but I think it is just beautiful :)

I was also looking at some of your photos and there was one of a AH-1 Cobra taken at Daytona - is that privately owned or an Army demonstrator?

Perhaps I'm used to its ugliness, but I don't see anything wrong with it either.

The four AH-1s that flew together are part of the SkySoldiers, which is a demonstation unit for the ARmy Aviation Heritage Foundation.  They used to do a vietnam reenactment with Hueys and other Cobras, but developed this act too.  They aquired four ex-army cobras and had the paint schemes donated to them.  Dayton was the first ever public performance of this routine, and on Sunday top officials from the Army were on hand to sign a contract with the AAHF after viewing the show.

Long story short, it's civilian owned and run, but is contracted with the US Army for recruiting purposes.
