That wouldn't be me then - I can't tell them apart either. I just Google the reg numbers :)

Nice pics, looks like you had some good weather down in Dublin  8)

The second picture in the opening post, was that an aircraft performing a go around or did you move down towards the opposite end of the runway to catch the departures?

Again nice ones. I'm no expert but just a suggestion - don't zoom in as tight to the aircraft (unless it's a close up of cockpit, engines etc), always leave some 'cropping' room. That way you don't cut wings, tail, nose off. Also when shooting jets leave the camera on AV mode (around F8) that way on nice bright days you'll get a fast enough shutter speed with will lessen the chance of camera shake. If it's a duller day just bump up the ISO.

Nice! I think I've flown of EI-DLX before from Tampere (Finland) to Dublin ;D

Yea I'd sometimes go to the departure end of the runway to catch the heavies taking off such as the Aer Lingus A330's and US 767's, etc. In general the arrivals on runway 10 are the best, especially when theres a queue for departure in the back ground :)

What type of camera are you using?

I have a secondhand Nikon D70 that i bought for 150 euro and a Sigma 70-300mm lens also have a Nikkor 18-70mm for general shots .....i see you have a 100-400mm so i think you would be able to get departure shots from the arrival end of 10... heres what i can get with the 70-300mm....

Yes. It now means you can level it and crop it in tight without losing any of the aircraft. As a quick example

Yea I can get the departures from runway 10 but then they're often destroyed by heat haze or backlit conditions during early morning.

I think if runway 10's in use, it's best to remain at runway 10 until about 10 or 11am and then nip down to the opposite end for the heavies, and then remain there until 1pm, then go for lunch for an hour or two. Catching the departures between 11 and 2 prevents heathaze as they're often above it when you photo them. Then from 3pm onwards it gets good again at runway 10 :D

I'm hoping to go down to Dublin at some point to catch some of the heavies. Air Transat and Air canada will be on the priority list :D

No worries, will let you know when I head down within the next few weeks. I'm actually meant to be flying out of Dublin this Wednesday and returning Thursday but due to the weather, we might just scrap the trip.

Will also be flying out of Dublin again 16th of June to return 23rd, and then will also be flying from Dublin 1st of July and 14th July  ;D   I have a busy month of flying!

By the way, you have some great shots there. Do you have photoshop at all to edit them?
