Armoy Road Race

The inaugural Armoy Road Race takes place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August 2009.  Practice will be the on the Friday afternoon/evening and Saturday race day.

Hope there are no accidents-road racing is bonkers :o-it scares the byjingo out of me!

Ulster Grand Prix is 9th-15th August-that is one scary circuit in a car at normal speed never mind a mo-bike!

Hope there are no accidents-road racing is bonkers :o-it scares the byjingo out of me!

Michael Dunlop had what looked like a real nasty one during the Supersport 600 race at the Mid Antrim on Saturday and although the race was red flagged he got to his feet and walked away.  He then stepped on to the 125cc machine and went out and finished first in that race!

It is understood a motorcycle crashed and the spectator was hit by the machine.
The incident happened on the Dean's Rise part of the course during the second lap of the Grand Final race at about 1630 BST.

Indeed, it was a very sad end to what had been two great days of motorcycle action.  The circuit provided a mix of everything and photographers for once were spoilt for choices picking locations to work from.  I just hope this won't bring a premature end to the newest event on the road racing calendar.
