Selection of pics from my trip to the City Airport. Couldn't help noticing that I was all alone on the top level of Ikea epecially given the weather.  :o

Unfortunately they were using runway 04 for landings some most of these are take-offs.

Keegster were you there around 2:15? I did go down, with wife and a few kids in tow, but because the top of the carpark was closed to traffic I just went home - didn't fancy carrying a pram up the stairs :( As I was driving home I noticed a lone figure on the top level.

Very nice photos, by the way.

Yep. Was there from just after 1:30 till just before 4.

I did go down, with wife and a few kids in tow, but because the top of the carpark was closed to traffic I just went home - didn't fancy carrying a pram up the stairs :(

They opened the multi-storey just after 2:30.

As I was driving home I noticed a lone figure on the top level.

:LOL Yes that was me. Felt a bit strange wandering around the top level with no other cars or people there. Was fully expecting someone from security to appear to find out what I was doing.  :)

Wished I'd stayed a bit longer then. It was a gorgeous day and there doesn't seem to be any heat haze in your photos - perfect conditions, and it would have been very nice to meet you.

I took photos of the planes as they lined up at the start of 04 (bit of a stretch with the 70-300) and there was heat haze in those shots. There was a nice easterly breeze which kept it cool, but as you saw, there wasn't a cloud in the sky.  8)

I noticed (and snapped) several high fliers passing over the airport, one of which I'm pretty sure was a 747 but there were no contrails which was a bit surprising.

Would have been good to meet you too (be able to put a face to the name) but we can always try again although probably not under the same weather conditions  :D
