RSS feed for forums

Does anyone know of any good RSS feeds that have pop-up notifications in real time?

I've been using RSS Feed Reader for Chrome for quite some time, but they have gone with a paid service now for real time pop up notifications, meaning the free version only pops up and updates every 2 hours :(

I use this and see that only iOS/Android notifications require the paid version.

Weird, the desktop version is saying it is £4.99 a month for live notifications or free for notifications refresh every 2 hours.

I use QuiteRSS reader on laptops and SparseRSS on phone.  Both popup notifications when they're received. The polling time is customisable on both, down to one minute I think.

Both are free and open-source.

Does QuiteRSS run in background or does it have to be open at all times on the desktop/laptop?

Edit: Nevermind, works great. Thanks. :)
