Ryanair out of the City - complaints on the 'Nextdoor' forum.

Hi all.

You might be aware of the community 'Nextdoor' forum, where you can ask for recommendations for builders, or even 'what was that loud noise at 11pm last night near Stormont' and you'll get some good answers.

Someone posted this morning that the City Airport seems busier, with more jets flying out of it and they seem to be 'louder'.

That is probably the case, with the collapse of Stobart Air, and some routes being filled by Aer Lingus and BA Cityjets.  Plus the arrival of Vueling and KLM back in the mix.

Then someone has mentioned that Ryanair, when taking off on Runway 04, aren't following the standard noise abatement, and make their right turn as soon as they can?  To be honest, it was like some folk really had it in for Ryanair.

I can't recall the early right turn being mentioned/questioned when listening to ATC, and would have thought any change of direction had to be okayed by ATC first?

Yeah
The one this morning did a very early right
It was the opposite to the non standard left the 320s do
It came out over to the left of me which in Comber is
Unusual.

Ryanair are well known for making early manoeuvres and have been doing it for years, literally cutting corners.
I know a few ATC staff at EDI and it is a regular problem, the flight crew use various excuses, such as radio problems or they claim they misunderstood the ATC instructions.

Mr O`Leary must have a big book of excuses.

Well it's a £3000.00 fine for busting the noise abatement procedures

Which will be "paid"
And put into the community fund
Unless the contract says they don't have to pay!

It's just a Ryanair policy, as they don't have carbon brakes aka ezy, they are full reverse thrust which is a fair rumble, and early departure turns, even Aldergrove 😉,  is it not up to atc to report these issues?

Strangely the BFS AGP just took off there and followed exactly the same path over Dundonald and to the left of me in Comber
I wonder are the non local crews programing the flight director the same way but omiting the noise abatement..... Just as well Craigantlet is not much higher

The BFS-AGP would be a little bit higher I'd assume to avoid any noise...?

Nope....it makes the same amount of noise......the engine noise of the 737 is either off or on in this hot weather.

With Ryanair returning to the city, their flight path sometimes go over my house. I didn’t appreciate the sound difference between the 738 and the 320. It’s fairly substantial.
