Possible crash at Newtownards Airport?

As per the title , I heard reports of a possible crash at Newtownards?
Smoke reported on runway, and emergency services enroute

Now confirmed, light aircraft, 2 occupants, fire service on scene, police have closed the airport and taken control 😓

The BBC are reporting that two people died in the crash. This is dreadful news, I know that many of us here know the airfield very well, I feel for everyone involved in this awful tragedy.

Awful tragedy.

It's supposed to be the UFC open weekend, this weekend as well. Not sure if it will be affected?
