One for the PC Boffins
« on: June 05, 2023, 11:52:44 AM »
Tech question here, for those who know these things....

My PC is running windows 10 with Edge as it`s browser, I have noticed over the past 2 months or so, when typing anything into the search box, there is a long delay before any text comes up (10-15 seconds approx ) , and pages are taking 10-30 seconds to load at times.

I am on full fibre B/Band with Plusnet, and when doing speed checks, all appears fine and dandy. Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome. I was hoping to avoid to a windows re-install, as you lose your apps, and it might not solve the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Finally flush the DNS

launch Edge and navigate to edge://net-internals/#dns. There, click the Clear Host Cache button.

Well I tried what you suggested, and it worked a little better, but still being a bit of an ass, so I did a fresh install of Windows and am busy re-jigging everything.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
