Helsinki Vantaa Airport, 2nd and 3rd of October

Good evening! I'm currently on one of my tri-annual Finland trips and have managed to get a bit of spotting done at Helsinki Vantaa before heading 2 hours East along the coast towards Kotka (only 100km away from Russia!
 
Instead of usually flying via Dublin, I opted to fly Belfast City to Manchester, stay two nights, and fly onwards to Helsinki, all of which turned out to be cheaper than flying from Dublin, thanks to FlyBE (BHD-MAN) and easyJet (MAN-HEL).
 
Anyhow the pictures from MAN are for another thread as theres 1000+ pics to go through and edit before posting! Whilst in MAN, I saw a good few things such as the Emirates A380 and an RAF Tristar in unusual colour scheme. Something to look forward to in the Manchester thread.
 
Anyhow, as mentioned, I got a few hours spotting done at Helsinki, at a small number of locations along the length of the Western runway, which is the main runway. Lots of mini hills allowing a view over looking the runway and a good number of friendly spotters. I lost count of the number of fathers and sons (and daughters) spotting with video's and cheap camera's. Seeing the fathers encouraging the juniors always make me smile.   
 
Now, the pictures. A random selection, nothing really in order. Most of which are taken on the Saturday and Sunday evenings. I am told I missed John Travolta and his 707 by a few days, he was transitting on his way through to India. maybe he will head back via here, who knows.

Re the RAF Tristar,one was in BFS a few days ago,looked like it had a special scheme but cloudbase was so low I only got a very brief look.Blue Tail possibly???

Thanks guys! Hammerhead, you've got to be kidding, your recent shots from Dublin were fantastic.
 
Angry, the Tristar I saw was white with a blue strip, ZD949. I looked around a few databases and it was last seen around 2007 so perhaps it's been in storage or something? It arrived at Manchester, sat around beside the runway for 20 minutes and then departed, without anything or anyone getting off. Maybe a maintence test or something?
 
I'm not sure it can be considered a special scheme, but it's not a livery I've ever seen on a Tristar before.
