That`s very naughty,I wonder how they explained themselves to ATC at City Of Derry.
 
Doubt very much they had permission and the CAA will be after the pilots if they become aware of this.
 
Although no harm seems to have been done,there appears to a few people on the beach,and something could easily have gone wrong,such as hitting soft sand and veering off etc.

They didn't have permission form the beach owners.

If they had to land there due to some sort of emergency,then that would be fair enough,but it looks to me like they were just larking about.
 
If City Of Derry ATC or a member of the public reported this,the pilots as you say TTF would be in serious trouble.
 
I remember hearing about an incident 5 or 6 years ago when a microlight flex wing was seen chasing geese at Castle Espie Co.Down.
The report I heard the aircraft was skimming over the water flatout at only 5ft or so.The pilot was traced to Newtownards and prosicuted,he was banned for 6 months and had to pay a fine of £1500.
