Wasn't that around 1982.

The F-111 did two fast passes and that was it and the RF4C gave a good display.

Don't think I ever saw a particularly inspiring display from a 'Vark anywhere.

Just a couple of small things. The Vulcan never displayed at Newtownards,. Its last display (before Newcastle) was at Aldergrove.
Mark Hanna sadly died after an accident in the Buchon (in Spain I believe). His beloved Spitfire (MH434) is still alive and well.

The A10s did not actually "display" at Bishops Court (though they may well have flown through that airfield on arrival) They did fly  through it on the way back to Dublin (and got into some trouble with the Gliding Squadron who were active down there at the time). All USAF assets were always "flyby only", they were not permitted to do displays.

The F1-11 flyby was cancelled as the night before they were used to bomb Libya.

Here's a publicity pic (from Ulster Air Show 1999), of the Schlepp flown that year by Clive Davidson

I will certainly stand corrected if someone produces a picture. But I was the person that USAF contacted to explain why they could not come.

It's over 30 years ago. Is it possible that they were due appear at two different years and missed one of the them?

I stand corrected, They must have been allocated twice (again in 1986) It was that second allocation that was cancelled. My poor old memory!

This brings back some memories, i was a member of the ATC and was airside of the runway the year Ken Wallace crashed and was able to get close enough to overhear him saying "i dont know what went wrong there" quite remarkable for a man of his age at the time who has basically fallen out of the sky. I was also close enough to the parked sea harrier airside, i think from memory it was the same year. Got to speak with the pilot who informed us that he had flown in the Falklands and that if there was ever another war he would resign as hed never want to experience that again! I thought at the time, not very good advertising for the armed forces to a cadet thinking of such a carer. But good times, that's when airshows really were good in northern ireland even though much of the aircraft couldn't land.
Does anyone remember the aldergrove airshow in the 80s with all the airliners doing low level fly pasts before coming around to land and the wonderful concord too.?

I was at the airshow held in Aldergrove when Concord arrived. If I remember correctly, the ground actually "shook" when it passed (or so it seemed to me as I was a tad younger than I am now!). I think I still have a magazine from it in the house somewhere. It was a great day out!

Awful quality, but here's a shot of the Cat with the Stearmans of Crunchie wing-walkers plus the Pitts of the Toyota Display Team.

I vaguely recall that the Toyota team also had an Extra but I can't remember whether it was at this show or not too.

There was also a Tigercat + Mustang + ??? formation at the same show, looks like I have one negative recoverable of that.  Edit: blimey, through the unintended motion blur and film grain you can just discern that #3 was a Tucano!

Only the cheapest Belmont Photo Service ISO200 film for teenage smudge in those days... Kodachrome was for really special occasions like Great Warbirds at West Malling!

The Tucano is likely to be G-BTUC,which is now with the UAS Collection.

Another one for 'scene', not 'detail'.

Puma, pair of Humphreys and a Wokka with the original three-bladed rotors.

I well remember the B25 Mitchell doing a wonderful display at Newtownards prob early '90's, the pilot really chucking it around. Another fav memory is hitching a lift in a DH rapide from BFS, where some of the display aircraft were based, to N'ards.
