Spotting at Prestwick Airport
« on: May 18, 2013, 08:12:42 PM »
Anyone no where the best place to spot at the airport during the summer will be over in Scotland in the first week of August and looking to finally go round to Prestwick Airport as I will be very close to the airport all week.

And also what movements I could expect at the airport during the time.

Thanks

Couldn't say if that's the main used runway (I think it is but not sure), the mound is an excellent area of raised ground with good views and on a side road so parking is easy.
HTH

Just checked out the video you posted, that was taken from 'the mound' area

And if the weather's bad, pick a good day and nip over Larne to Troon.
Take your bicycle or catch the train. Full 8 hours of spotting.
Shameless advertising plug. Sorry.

Best travel idea I've heard this year.  Thank you, I plan to pack the bicycle pannier and do so!
