Another new upload and this one is easily the best - 72 Squadron farewell including air-to-air footage. Enjoy!

You can clearly ssee the birds in the video, I`m not convinced rolling inverted was the best choice of manoeuvre, but then I`m not a fast jet pilot. They reacted as they thought best, but it does look iffy flying towards the busy beach.

Lots of discussions as to what happened to cause the jet to carry out such a manoeuvrer - Official Spanish AF Twitter said the pilot was avoiding birds etc

Can you imagine if this happened during an airshow in the UK!

Next up is a UTV Segment from 1993 - some of the terminal interior looks the same today! Nice to see the Midlands, the shuttle and the shuttle check-in desks.

As some may already know the Society recently took delivery of a Sea King. The Society newsletter (Airmail) yesterday said that they also have been donated two other aircraft:

Good to see a local lad getting a look in, but I still won't be doing it. Gotta be honest, I wasn't even that impressed with the RIAT lineup this year, Pakistanis aside.

I think the days of the airshow are numbered.

Just the media trying to scare people from flying,or it's a slow news day.
300ft in 36seconds is 8.3ft per second,hardly a plunge,or an evasive manoeuvre.

Thing that strikes me is this was shortly after takeoff, yet people were flung from their seats. That suggests to me passengers are either not wearing their seatbelts,or taking them off too soon. Most airlines suggest you wear your seatbelt at all times when seated,it sounds like US passengers ignore that advice.

Air safety in the USA is not great, look on youtube and you will find countless radio Comms of near misses, and breaches of air traffic protocol, from pilots and ATC staff.

Media sensationalism.

After the Air India flight I notice every little bit of aviation news reported in the news has a sensationist headline.

That honestly sounds like a very slow descent rather than a plunge.

https://news.sky.com/story/plane-plunges-300ft-in-36-seconds-to-avoid-other-aircraft-13401958

QuoteA US passenger plane made a dramatic plunge minutes after take-off to dodge another aircraft - injuring two cabin crew and causing passengers to shoot out of their seats.

QuoteData from FlightAware shows the aircraft dropped by 91m (300ft) in just 36 seconds.

300ft in 36 seconds isn't a dramatic plunge. Am I missing something?
