I noticed a TUI 737 arrive in from LGW and it was due to depart back to LGW again this evening. It's on the arrivals to be in again tomorrow morning from LGW again. Is this a training flight of sorts or something else?

Looks like it happened in September, lack of technicians is cited as one possible cause as well as "shortcomings in the "Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program"

The sole pilot was killed and the aircraft was destroyed.

The aircraft had left Sligo Airport bound for Béziers-Cap d'Agde en Languedoc Airport (BZR/LFMU) in southern France.

A Indian HAL Tejas LCA MK1 has crashed at the Dubai Airshow, sadly the pilot was killed.
The aircraft LA-5026 was lost during its display sequence,it failed to recover from a manoeuvre and hit the ground. It does not appear that the pilot ejected.

Absolutely horrible. Reminds me of the USMC KC130 that came apart mid air in 2017

Sadly no one has survived. 20 on board.

If that video is legit, and I think it is, it looks awful. Breakup in mid flight.

There are also pictures of wreckage on the ground and it's definitely C130 material.
