A Vulcanair P.68C-TC EI-HPY declared an emergency approximately 50km off the coast but later crashed in a field near Lisselan, Co Waterford,attempting to divert to Waterford Airport (WAT/EIWF), Co Waterford.
The sole pilot was killed and the aircraft was destroyed.

The aircraft had left Sligo Airport bound for Béziers-Cap d'Agde en Languedoc Airport (BZR/LFMU) in southern France.
