Let's wait and see if the format is going to change, and what aircraft they manage to book.

According to their FB page the 'last airshow' comments were made by people unconnected to the show (personally I find this hard to believe as the announcement came over the tannoy, and I heard it repeated more than once)

It's never going to be a one day show due to all the accommodation that gets booked for overnight stays.

(and please - no requests for it to be held elsewhere. It's an airshow organised by Portrush for Portrush)

Its easy to say "I'm not going because it will be rubbish" but with the depths to which this years show plunged getting any worse would be almost impossible.

Just have to wait and see what aircraft they manage to get booked and how well they shout about how fantastic the show will be.

After 2013's fiasco the only way - if you'll forgive the pun is UP

IF the airshow is still:
- a two day event
- held in September
- held at Portrush

then there has been no revamp and no review. I don't understand why the organisers continue to ignore all the feedback they get. Even token changes would at least show that they're listening.

Also I thought the airshow was organised by Coleraine Borough Council (I may be wrong).

No you're not - but the point I was trying to make is that every year there are calls for it to be held at Derry,Newtownards or elsewhere. That is not going to happen unless some other outfit comes up with funding / sponsorship.

Because it keeps bringing in people to buy dog burgers, ice cream and plastic dog poop.  Which is what it's all about.

But are they all requests backed up by cash (Red Arrows,Typhoon) or are some a 'any chance of sending something for free?'

I'd be curious to know why the IAC don't / can't send anything,as they seem to turn up at RAF Northolt quite often for photoshoots.I'm sure it wouldn't be too much to send a AW139 to the tennis courts after a flypast, even if it isn't cleared to do a display.I know i'd like to see and photograph one up close.

It will be interesting to see what Newcastle can conjure up for their show....... ;)

Down Council's Events Development Officer for the last few years has been Ann Moreland and along with Jeff Salter and whoever else is involved , she has pushed the Festival of Flight to the forefront in the councils event calender.
She retired though earlier this year so we wonder whoever takes over as events development officer , will they have the same commitment and drive as Ann in getting top class "acts" ?

Somehow I dont think it'll be a massive move away from Portrush ... Coleraine council will still want it as their own and in the council area ! I reckon it'll simply be a move away from the west strand , maybe the beach at Castlerock [unlickly though due to access for thousands] or maybe something simple like moving to east strand , that way its still Portrush !! only problem I would see with east strand is the golf club not being too happy about it.

They've just tweeted that the Twitter feed is changing it's name from @portrushairshow so it might be a wee bit away...

Ballykelly would be a great spot, but I think it`s more likely to stay in the town somewhere-East Strand I suspect, unless they get a decent line up I don`t care where they have it!

Shall I get back in the knife drawer?  ;D

The one thing I don't get is how Portrush is AFTER Newcastle's airshow... yet announce things much sooner. So far DDC aside from a few posts confirming the date on FB have said 0 about it.
