caught a quick glimpse of the photo of the display line before they removed it ... it wasnt parallel to the beach and at 90 degrees to it !! seemed a bit weird so maybe someone realised the boo boo.

If you bring a ladder it will make it easier to climb up into it. One of the collapsable ones from B&Q or Maplins is perfect. The last time I was up at it (2 years ago) I made a set of steps out of some bricks lying about and it made getting up less of a challenge but a ladder would solve the problem straightaway.

Nice throaty note from the Sea Fury Bristol Centaurus engine.

VR930 wears original colours of 802 NAS as she would have done when based at RNAS Eglinton in 1948,so of local interest.

I posted the Sea Fury news on their Facebook page and they keep deleting it so their 'big news' must be it. Odd thing is I posted it to my Twitter feed yesterday and their official twiter account favourited it!

As much of a fan of Sea Furies as I am, if that is it I think they may leave the normal air show visitors a bit deflated. From any non aviation buffs I know who follow it they are expecting something similar to the F-16

I for one can't wait to see a Fury though.

I don't think its the Sea Fury. It's a lovely aircraft, but no where near the hype they are putting around the announcement. Besides, the Sea Fury was in NI last summer in Newcastle so its not exactly like it is a 1st for NI.

Possibly the Canadian Lancaster and BBMF Lancaster together at Portrush?

Both Lancs, and the Vulcan, are appearing at the Scottish Air Show that is being held the same weekend as Portrush, and the BBMF are scheduled to appear at Portrush, could bring a straggler....

Had a look at their Facebook page, says they are staying until the second week of September weather permitting. It could happen.

The big news has been put off until next week. They had tweeted they hoped to announce it this week on Monday.

It would be a heck of a coup if they could get both Lancs.   For Portrush and for NI generally.

I still want to (and will) see them at a proper airshow though even if it means heading to the land of shandy :p

From their latest Facebook post it looks like the reds are doing a flypast at some stage before the date of the show

Most likely 29th of June as they are over here then. I've already asked the Newcastle show organizers  if they could do a flypast but got no answer on that one.

June 29 Clipper Homecoming Festival, Londonderry

So its on the way home for the Reds that day.
