Ramore head is a no go apart from the helos in the tennis courts, it's way too far back!

The best option is the silver wings chalet & I believe there is still an option to purchase at town hall tomorrow tho u will lose the car park benefit?

If you look on google maps, the outcrop of land just north of Arcadia with a building & concrete yard is the site, it is so close to the display line we were in the downdraft of the merlin!

Failing that, the path along Bath Terrace off Main Street is the place to go.

As for traffic & parking, go early and approach via Gateside road to the parking areas around the Dunluce centre, then walk in via the east strand car park.

The WW1 exhibit is well worth a visit to pass the time until flying starts.

Overall a vast improvement on previous display line!

I have to congratulate the organisers because the new display line is much, much better. Aircraft are closer, and lower :)
Crowd centre is the Silver Wings chalet so anywhere near by is fine for viewing. As for parking I came in from the Ballymoney side and there is a sign for airshow parking, it's up by the mobile home park. It's then about 10 minutes walk.

Anyone get a Program? Has it got the times for all the aircraft tomorrow? Anyone able to take a pic and post it on here if the times are in it? Thanks  :)

I don't think I'll purchase a ticket for the chalet tomorrow, I just think it's too much for what I would take from it. I think I'll try and position myself somewhere very close to it, right out at the beech. I just think that there will maybe be too much of a crowd there, that it would prevent me getting good photos (I like to lay my bag on the ground etc... hence I like Ramore). First aircraft is due at 12:20

Totally agree with Casper.
Parked at Kellys and a brief walk brought me to where I wanted to be.
Pleased to see some great stalls - Ulster Aviation Society, Somme Heritage Centre, Jonny McNee re the Spitfire recovered in Donegal.
Did any of you speak with the Ancestry Expert in the BBC area and if so did you recognise him?
It is Steve Roberts from the "Finding the Fallen" and "Trench Detectives" shows.
I will get my pictures sorted tomorrow.
Excellent day 😁

I was up at the show today, and arrived early parked in the West Bay carpark and mine was one of only 15 cars at around 9.15-I was going to try the bus,but times and links didn`t really fit so I drove up.
New display area seemed very tight at first, but everything I saw seemed to cope ok-might be different for the Arrows.
I`m still undecided about the new site,it does bring the aircraft closer to the crowd, but I miss being able to look down into the cockpit of aircraft from Ramore or Black Rocks.
Undoubtedly it gives a much better view to everybody, which has to be a good thing, and it is probably safer for the pilots as they have better reference.

Really peeved about the BBMF and the Canadian Lanc;to my mind the BBMF need to be a bit more flexable with their operating parameters for weather,I like many I suspect was watching the weather closely all week, and saw no reason for any weather issues-even if they had come over and just flown a few straight and level passes, that would be great, just to see and hear the aircraft;they don`t need to chuck them around. It seemed very early to make the call (around 12.15 I think) when they weren`t due until 1645 ish.I don`t think the cancellation was relayed to the crowd, but I was at the far end of Ramore Avenue carpark.
Maybe it`s time the show organisers didn`t attempt to book the BBMF for shows over here as too often they fail to attend, privately owned warbirds seem to manage ok,so what are the BBMF doing differently?

There was a great spot there on the rocks which was dry,and practically flat, also well away from the water, and it also provided excellent cover from the wind-unfortunatly the coastguard "nanny" patrol did not like anyone on the rocks and began chasing people.
I realise they are only doing their job/volunteering,but it seemed rather OTT to me.
There was a group of a round 8 of us,all adults just chatting and having some great banter, but they insisted we get off the rocks-I think the two guys were a bit embarrassed themselves, but we did as we were asked.
I think they should have had signs to tell people access to the rocks area was closed,as the show went on some more people did venture on to the rocks, and the game of cat and mouse continued.

The displays I saw were all very good, the Canberra and Mustang were particularly exciting, but by 3.30 there was a long gap,and I got a bit bored standing around-I left just after the Strikemaster display, and as I walked back to the car the RV8Tors were running in to start their show.
Looks like I missed the Bronco, which I would have liked to see,but as I say I got a bit bored, and decided to bale to beat the exodus-still very disappointed with the Lancs, and I`m not sure if I will go back up tomorrow.
All in all I think the relocation has worked pretty well-not sure about £40 for the glorified Wendy House. ;D

From what I gather the weather issues with the BBMF/Canadian Lancasters was at the Conningsby end. When I heard they were cancelling today I did check the weather and Lincolnshire did appear to be getting heavy rain. That would account for the early cancellation.

I hope to head up shortly, but I have a terrible cramp in my right calf muscle so I can bearly walk at the moment-hope it eases or I won`t be going anywhere;standing around all day watching aircraft can be bad for your health sometimes. :(

Just back from watching the Reds arrive at Aldergrove. Awesome as always! Beautiful conditions there with mostly clear skies at the time meant they did a full half loop over the airport with a split on the way back down, before all 10 landed. Got some very close views as we park almost exactly at the end of the runway lighting at Killead. The United 757-200 took off for New York just before hand.

Everyone going to the show today, enjoy.

Is it just the one Lynx? No Lynx Wildcat as was mentioned a few days back?
