First time shooting these today (really should have set up the tripod etc, but was busy doing other stuff & just grabbed them when opportunity arose  :-[ )

Any C&C welcome!
Cropped about half the original frame size (ish)

Great shots Angry Turnip, you were a busy-boy today  ;)
I got up with the intentions of taking some shots,
but when I saw they were not trailing, and the first five aircraft
were the same aircraft as the last 3 times I took flyovers,
I decided maybe tomorrow instead  :)

Impressive stuff Dave-Thank you-neck was getting sore looking up at all those contrails!

Must remember to stop down a bit more and might get more detail.

Wasn`t sure if T.Cook A321 go across the pond either so B757 is probably more likely.

Most taken between 1230 and 1400 for future reference.

Police Islander G-BSWR was also at high level and got a shot of him at 8,000ft approx

Caught these three this morning - a 747, C-17 and what appears to be a balloon (weather?) of some description - it has a cord connected to something below it.

Nice catch with the weather balloon there - they release those not too far from your location!
I used to track them with my scanner and some sonde software :)

Thanks Mark. That's the second time I've caught one on camera. The first time I wasn't able to see the attached load.

The weather Balloon was an interesting catch, I didn't realise it's 'load' was carried so far under it.

Here's the C17 I caught in Dublin around the same time you caught it up North.

OK this is my first photo post from new camera. I cropped it to 800x536, hope this is the right thing to do. ???
I'm quite pleased with this as a first attempt. Probably could have been slightly better if I'd been on manual focus but I'm staying on auto untill i get the hang of the Camera.
I think it is an Emirates flight, hopefully someone can recognise what make it is.

Great catch, and an unusual one too, and Emirates 777-300.

Does anyone use manual focusing for contrail shooting? I've never actually tried manual, maybe worth a go?

Thanks Dave,
Probably beginners luck but I will try manual focus as I think I could hopefully squeeze a bit more out of my lens

Nice shot Angry. Is there a live radar site anywhere on the web that you can see what is comming your way. I've tried ACARSD but i don't seem to get many planes that send their co-ordinates?
