Yea, that would be pretty cool, although I believe Hammerhead is heading off to England at the start of July?
And yea, lots of Ryanair 737's! I believe I saw a few of the same one's more than four times
I'll do a wee write up tomorrow on how things went in Dublin, for now, bed time!
Thanks Don for the great time today!
Glad you enjoyed you day at EIDW Dave

. I'm adding a few pics that i took yesterday to my gallery but i'm sure that yours will be better Dave ....
Nice set of photos

I don't think I caught any shots of the Cessan as any photos I did get had objects blocking the plane itself such as those poles along the runway. When you were with me there was quite a lot of heat haze when the sun was out

Just a wee write up on the trip;
I caught the 4am Bus down to EIDW which cost 20 euros return. The bus was due to arrive at DUB at around 6.10 which would give me 50 minutes to walk to the spotting place on the far side of the airport before the first heavy arrival due in at 7am. Trying to walk out of the airport was quite dificult due to all the works going on in the new terminal. Thankfully once out of the airport, it was easy eough getting to the spotting humps. Luckily runway 28 was in use, otherwise I'd have to have walked an extra mile down to the far end of the runway!
Unfortunately the sun was backlighting shots at 7am, and continued doing so until 9.30!!! So the next time I go to Dublin, the 6am bus will do the trick nicely meaning arriving at the spotting locations at around 9.30am. 4am was just idiotic as spotting with no sleep is useless. I forgot to adjust the camera settings so ended up using ISO 400 for most of the day, rendering most of the photos useless for uploading, but decent enough for my personal collection

I did bring a fold a way chair which was handy when things died down as standing for 8 hours is a bit tiring. Food and drink wasn't too much of a problem as two bottles of drink (1 cooled in fridge, the other frozen in freezer), a pack of baps and crisps lasted me my time there.
Now on to the photos. As mentioned, heat haze started to pick up quite early on, at became difficult to shoot through during the hours of midday.

Having missed her at BHD for the past 4 years, I finally caught her!

A new 737 for Ryanair.

That's all I've editted at the moment. It was at this point when Don arrived and we started chatting away

Now for the more technical stuff regarding photos, (Don, cover your eyes!

) I'm quite pleased with the shots actually, with a bit of careful noise reduction on photoshop, the effects of ISO 400 were easily enough erased. At the time I was wondering why I was getting shutter speeds of 1/1600 when the aircraft was in clouds!

I started thinking the 40D is some kind of super camera!
I stick up some more shots when they've been editted. I had a good sleep last night so I'm all caught up with my missed sleep.
We should definately look into organising a DUB meeting or something. There was a little breakfast caravan l("crepes creap")ocated at the first spotting hump, something I didn't notice until leaving so that might be handy for food if any of us do fancy heading down in the future. It would be good to have Don there if some kind of meeting was arranged.
