I'm assuming if it makes it over the BOBMF will be staging at Aldergrove? It looks as if i can't make Portrush so I was gonna take a run up to BFS to catch a glimpse of them arriving/departing

Not sure on that yet.

Team RaVen and Autogyro using Causeway Airfield
Bronco using Eglington.

Looking at the timings we might get the Typhoon/Spitfire formation on Saturday as they are right after each other.

Delighted to finally see the lineup and timings.
Yes have seen all the displays before and some may say there isn't much excitement on show but it's free and in our own backyard. Will enjoy it for what it is.....I'm hoping that the cloud scheduled for Saturday burns away

Pretty much what I am doing too. Going up and enjoying it for what it is.

It's an airshow in NI, the first for 3 years. Orginisers did have heafty goals but everything they applied for didn't come to be outside the RAF aircraft. It was maybe not a good idea to publically talk about applications to European and UK jet teams and Civilian solo jet displays until they had word back from them. That's the big downfall of the show. They set expectations so high, but in the end didn't get much of what they wanted

Weather forecast for weekend has taken a turn for the worse--Saturday looks to be okay 15C-17C westerly breeze Sunny spells,

Sunday looks iffy--persistent rain, heavy at times SW wind breezy. So perhaps the pinecone wasn`t so far off after all. :)

There is a possibility if things develop with the queen the show could be cancelled anyway

That's the problem with this show and linking it into a 'Jubilee' celebration.  The Jubilee was months ago now. And they haven't exactly got anything special considering they were saying it was to celebrate the Jubilee!

I think part of "operation London bridge" needs the Reds to be ready to do a flypast

Isn't that strange, considering they downgraded to 7 jets because of pilot issues, so I'm sure they have at least 2 spare Hawk's kicking around somewhere , unless they flogged them on eBay ?
After Rhyl they were down one anyway.... this makes two.  They always used to have 10 jets in a state of readiness in case one went tech.

Oh, and for those interested, there is a good breakdown of the birdstrike comms here on "Fast Jet Performance" youtube channel. Link below 👍

I had read somewhere that one of the reasons Leeming was closing and the reason there jets weren't beimg amalgamated with the rest was so the reds where to have spare airframes going forward. Hence xx202 repainted in the red arrows colours.

This explains why there was no display. They were down to 5.

They do have spares, however they were down to 6 so tasked a jet to take a pilot to get a spare meaning they were down to 5 this morning which put them outside safety regulations for display.

Apparently all the traders have been informed the show has been cancelled. That's unconfirmed. If that is the case, it's nice of the organisers to inform the public at the same time.

I've heard that too, but seen no actual sources. I have been getting messages all evening saying along the lines of 'I know someone who knows someone and its cancelled'

I personally don't think the RAF displays will happen which will in turn mean the show being cancelled. I am also getting a lot of messages asking why they haven't put out a statement yet. I'm guessing it takes time to co-ordinate with all the various groups involved in the show before a statement can be made.

I don't expect the show to happen now. But I think the best thing to do is wait for official word.

I actually think notifying the traders first is a good idea, keeping up good relations etc as they are paying to have their pitch there. They would be pretty annoyed to find out via FB rather than being notified.

True, but a lot of people, including me, have booked accommodation, which unfortunately has passed its cancellation stage now.  I don't mind, still a weekend away and Saturday's weather looking decent.

You just know, the show will be cancelled and the weather on Saturday will be blue skys all day!

09:15 and still no official announcement.  Everyone knows, we just want to see it from the official organisers. Very bad PR from them.

It's now official

Following the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen, and in consultation with our partners, the Northern Ireland International Air Show on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September has been cancelled as a mark of respect
