so , basically you can own a "warbird" , have it on "permit to fly" but not display it and simply use it as your own private aircraft and go for Sunday afternoon jollies in it just like any Cessna or whatever out of Ards ?
Yes,but if you want to display the aircraft you have to get a qualified display pilot who is current on the aircraft to do that for you,unless you have the qualifications yourself.
I would imagine the insurance would need to be beefed up as well for display flying.
Also the intended display would have to be checked and approved by a CAA examiner,doubtless it would be a major paperwork excercise.
