They sure are dragging this big announcement. It's been 'next week' all month :/

So far feedback seems very bad, people are starting to get annoyed about the lack of fast jets or 'star attractions' Their twitter feed says there are 21 display planned or acts to be confirmed.

Oh, while yes it is a good announcement, they did hype it up to be something bigger with their post about 'firsts' for NI and up there with the A380 and F16 etc

So, once again... no big announcement. They seem to make announcements of announcements and never follow through :/

Unfortunately I believe they are relying on a third party to make the announcement first. I reckon they were promised the news today and have been let down by the third party.

I think the Big Announcement will be that the Canadian Lancaster will be attending Portrush as there are lots of rumours that it is going to extend its visit to the UK.

Announcements about Big Announcements then nothing time and again! This doesn't bode well, maybe this will be another year of empty promises and no shows! While a Lancaster would be nice to see again, another one wouldn't really be that much more of a spectacle, if that is the "Big Announcement", Meh! Now a Tu-95 would be something Big and worth while, or even any ex-Soviet Era Aircraft! :)

Its more because it could be 2 Lancaster's flying together that will make it a big thing and probably never be seen again unless they cane get 'Just Jane' in the air again. And will be, most likely the last time the Canadian and BBMF Lancs fly together

Though I am critical of Newcastle sometimes, they do at least hold off and not tease announcements only to not follow through. They wait until they can confirm before they post anything. Where as Portrush has time and again not learnt to wait until they know for sure they can post it before they post a teaser.

Looks like Portrush may have its 2nd Jet though. Newcastle Jet Provost has posted the link to Air Waves Portrush. I asked if this was confirmation but got the reply 'We can't possibly say ;)'  They did say they will have 2 shows in NI this year a while back.
